Used to pour salt on them and they'd melt!

I love weeping willows as well, but don't have one here. I was just looking at one for sale at a gardening center, but I am just afraid a young tree like that would be eaten by the deer. Michele's yard has a beautiful one, and it's fenced there, so deer can't get to it.

The story you are writing for your grandchildren sounds charming. I'm sure they will love it. I used to write stories for my children, when they were young, but have not written one for my grandchildren. They do enjoy reading my stories in Chicken Soup, though. :-)

Thank you for coming by, dear Bev. A couple of the tornadoes was close to here, but nothing ever got here where we live tho. I love the lettuce in your garden. I remember years ago when my parents would have a garden, they would have lettuce and when it was ready, my Mom would put it in some hot grease with some green onions and wilt it. You talk about something good. LOL. I haven't had anything like that in years now. What all do you plant in your garden? I always loves having fresh tomatoes out of the garden as well. Nothing better than a tomato and mayonnaise sandwich to fill you up. LOL. Those were the days. The deer and the trees are beautiful as well as well as your irises. You really have a beautiful place there where you live and I know you enjoy everything around you. I do enjoy seeing all the pictures you share with us from your neck of the woods. I have put up a new post this morning and I hope you will drop by sometime today or this evening. Take care my friend and have a great day. The trees around here are just beginning to leaf out, but most are still looking pretty naked. However the weeping willows are really spectacular right now and there are several all around me, including one in my own yard. Every window I look out I can see one.
In fact I am in the process of writing a story for my great grandchildren, called 'The Enchanted Willow', which is a story about a willow tree my mother grew from a twig many years ago. I am writing the story as a fairy tale, with a princess and a castle, etc. The kids all love that.
Have a lovely Sunday dear, and enjoy that delicious lettuce before the deer find it.
Blessings!Mountain Mamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05484592294033354129noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7128708840799747320.post-7618308931180128772008-05-03T21:23:00.000-05:002008-05-03T21:23:00.000-05:00Your place is beautiful...
