Shooting the Moon!

Last night, I braved the cold to try and shoot the moon! Well, I was trying to shoot pictures of the eclipse, of course! And I was braving the cold by standing at my open kitchen window. I wasn't brave enough to go outside and stand in my field though, to do it. The photos are not the best, but the best that I could muster, especially with the trees around here hampering my view, as you can plainly see. I was lucky to be able to shoot a few pictures before the clouds rolled in, bringing the sleet, snow and freezing rain with it, a little later. And if you watched the eclipse and took pictures of it, like my old friend Tina did, please let me know. Tina is an Astronomy Buff, and takes beautiful, professional looking pictures, unlike me. But I enjoyed shooting the moon!

I like the above picture because the moon looks like it's hung up on the tree branch!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Good Evening Ms. Renie,
I'm back again. LOL. The pictures are just breathtaking. I really love the first picture and it does look like the Moon is sitting on a tree branch. You did a great job. Did yall get very much Ice or Snow today? We have just been upgraded to an Ice Storm Warning until 6:00a.m. Looks like we may get some Ice out of this system thats going to be moving thru. I've been keeping up with Ryan on his blog for about the last 30-45 minutes and it's not looking that good right now. We are still below freezing. I'm not sure if I will post in the morning or not. Since my DH is home, you know I have to spend my time with him and then me not feeling too good with my stomach, so we will have to see how I'm feeling in the morning. Who knows, we may not even have any power. Take care my friend and "THANK YOU" so much for sharing your pictures with us. I always enjoy looking at the pictures you do share with us. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

Well I guess I was brave too because I bundled up and went out with my camera hoping to get some photos too, but there were too many trees in the way so I just watched until I was shivering then I came in and got warmed up.
At least you got some photos. Good for you!!!

Morning, Karen,

The weather has been frightful, around here! We've had lots of rain, sometimes freezing rain, sometimes just rain. So far, the power is still on, thank goodness. Looking out on the deck, with the lights on out there, I see lots of ice sparkling on the tree branches, but the ground doesn't look like it has much ice on it. I think this system is supposed to move out this morning. I hope so!

Thank the Lord your DH made it home safely. And I do hope your stomach feels better this morning! I also hope your power is still on and that you didn't get any ice.

Take care, my friend. Stay safe and well in this crazy weather.

Love and Hugs,

Renie

We just got some wonderful rain last night and so far most of today! It's in the 40's here.

Great photos, Renie, even if you shot the moon from inside the house! :-) I like how it looks like the moon is hung up on a branch, too. Neat!

So, how did you like that yucky weather last night?! Crazy, huh?

You have a great weekend as well!

Smiles,
Michele

Renie,

I love your photos! It does look like the moon is hung up on the tree branch. It's lovely how in all the photos the tree frames the moon. The branch across the moon in the last photo looks so delicate. You are very artistic! Thank you for sharing these, I've enjoyed seeing them. And thank you for your kind words and link to my post. :-)

Love & Hugs,
Tina

Glad you enjoyed the moon shots and the opposum. Thanks for visiting.

And I'm glad you're getting the rain. We've had tons of rain, some freezing, some not, and I'm ready for some sunshine again.

Have a good weekend!

Love the photos, Renie, especially the one with the moon hanging on a tree limb! :) I almost forgot about the eclipse and missed the pretty red looking part! I didn't even try to take pictures. I've tried before and my camera just isn't strong enough. Thanks for sharing yours!

Hugs,
Hope

Dear Renie ~~Good pictures of the eclipse taken from your window. I had
a look at Tina's ones too. Also Pea had some good ones. (But none hanging on a tree branch!!) Thanks for your comments and kind remarks about the photo of my hair-do. Glad you enjoyed Robby's Story even after reading it. It was supposed to be true and was a nice one. Glad you got some chuckles from the jokes. Take great care, my friend, Love, Merle.

Hi Hope,

Well, my camera isn't strong enough for really good pictures either, and I did miss the pretty orange part, because the clouds rolled in, but I enjoyed what I did see.

Thanks for visiting. Have a great weekend.

Very nice!
I'm just so thankful that so many got to see the eclipse. Was snowing and cold and cloudy here, then just in time, the sky became clear as a bell
and we were able to watch from our windows. Beautiful!

Good Afternoon Ms. Renie,
I have been in bed most of the day and I have been up for a little while now. I am feeling okay for the moment and thought I would do a little visiting. Hope things are well up in your part of the woods. Guess what? We finally got a bit of Snow here last night. Sure enough did. I was laying in bed watching KAIT8 News and when Ryan was telling the weather and showing the Radar, there was a small patch of Snow on the Radar here in our area. I got up and came in the front room to look out the front door, and sure enough, it was Snowing. Woooohoooo!!!! It wasn't sticking because it was a wet Snow. There was a bit on the top of my truck but it was too dark for me to take a picture of it with my Cell Phone. But at least I can now say, We got some Snow. LOL. My DH cooked some Cheeseburgers and Hot Dogs out on the grill today for us to eat. He knew I felt really bad, so I had asked him if he would do this last night and he said he would. I dearly appreciated it. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

It was rainy and since I have a colde, I didn't go out. I did hear about it,and look on the internet,so I was there in spirit..lol
Have a wonderful week.

Renie Burghardt said...

Hi Stephanie,

If it was raining, you probably wouldn't have seen the eclipse anyway. Here the clouds started rolling in before totality took place, so I didn't see the important part.

Thanks for coming by. I hope your cold is better!

Renie

Dear Renie ~~Thanks for your
comments and I am glad you liked the Box of Love and also the story of the Ducks in heaven. My turkey dinners were really nice. Glad you liked the picture I posted. It was painted by the mouth of an Australian lady. Such
talent under difficult conditions. So
inspiring. Sorry Blogger gave you
trouble posting the comments. Take great care, my friend, Love, Merle.

I thought I would see more pictures of the eclipse of the moon on blogs.

We had a perfect night for it here. It was clear with no light pollution to interfere.

Unfortunately, I do not have a good enough camera to capture it.

Thank you for visiting!
