Falling Leaves and Turkeys Gobblin'!

Since my little camera is cooperating once again, I thought I'd post first, this photo I just took of my front yard. The leaves are covering most of the front, and most of my driveway as well, even though there are still plenty of leaves left on the trees.
Just think of all the fun my visiting company will have next week, raking leaves! LOL.
And in the field, wild turkeys are gobblin'. Since, like the deer, the turkeys show up in my field regularly these days, my granddaughters will enjoy seeing them.
Deer season ends Sunday, thank goodness. Peace and quiet will return to the woods. Until the girls get here , and fill the woods with whooping and laughter.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Good Morning Renie,
Burrrrrr!!!! It is a cold morning here. It is 32 degrees right now. I am sitting here visiting and drinking my coffee. My computer is right by my front door and I feel a little draft. Gonna have to fix it before too long. Those pictures are beautiful. Now, are you going to get you a turkey for your Thanksgiving Dinner? LOL I know you are anxiously awaiting for your family to get there. I hope you all will have a great time together and don't eat too much. Well I've got some more visiting to do, so take care and have a great Friday and stay warm. God Bless You.

Hugs,
Karen H.

Hi Grandy,

Yes, I'm pretty excited and can't wait until they get here. I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. As you can see, I'll need lots of help with raking!

Thanks for visiting. Have a great weekend.

The leaves remind me of our childhood home that had four enormous oak trees on the lot, so raking leaves was a chore. We had great piles and jumped it them. Bac then my father burned the leaves (not allowed these days. He was known as firebug Robinson as he was never happy unless he had a little fire going.

The introduced wild turkeys into southern Ontario with outstanding success. There is a hunting season and they have spread far and wide. within 30 miles of us in the North.

I only saw the turkey's wild in North Carolina.

Renie Burghardt said...

Hi Philip,

Have lots of oak trees around here, and hickory trees, so there are tons of leaves. I used to do a lot of raking myself, but am getting too old to do it all, anymore. Of course, we only rake the yard area and around the house, the rest is left to decompose as nature meant it to.

We aren't allowed to burn leaves either, as most of the land around here is forest land. We don't want any fires to get out of hand.

Turkeys are plentiful around here, and they come to visit, along with the deer. We don't hunt them, but we do enjoy watching them.

Thanks so much for visiting. I do appreciate it!

Renie,

If Brandon and Jordan saw your front yard they would want to come for a visit. The boys love raking leaves, but there's one catch. They want to jump and roll in them once they have them in a pile.

I'm so glad your family is coming for a visit. Have a great time with them.

Blessings for a great Thanksgiving.

Wonderful leaf photo. Beautiful. I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving, but where I'm at looks like they skipped that and went straight to Christmas.

I posted a photo of deer today, at least my version. The only one's I could get. And, some snow on my personal blog.

I clicked on your link from Tossing the Pebbles.

Good Evening Renie,
I hope you had a good weekend. I didn't post this weekend. I'm going to wait until tomorrow. I got up with a sinus headache this morning. It has started to ease up some now. I am cooking Thanksgiving dinner for us 4 and my parents and sister are coming to eat with us. I'll post my menu in the next day or so. My girls went with my parents to their Church tonight. They had their Thanksgiving dinner there. My girls brought me some food home. They were thinking about their momma. I'm out visiting friends from my blogroll tonight. Thought I would drop in and check on you. I do hope you will have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING. May God Bless You and Yours. Take care my friend.

Hugs,
Karen H.

How are you feeling and doing? I hope well. Thank you for the nice comment on the pictures and the Thanksgiving wishes. I'll be over to visit tomorrow.

Hi Karen,

Sounds like you will have a nice family type Thaksgiving yourself. The weather is so nice, isn't it? But colder for Thanksgiving, the forecast says. I was hoping for nice, mild weather so my granddaughters can spend a lot of time outdoors. Oh, well, Mother Nature has a will of her own.

Thank you for your nice Thanksgiving wishes. I'll be over to visit tomorrow.

Hugs,

Renie

Dear Tina,

Yes, the girls will enjoy visiting Nana in the country, and I will enjoy having them here.

Thanks so much for the nice comment on the photos. Today, the leaves don't look as pretty anymore, they're just brown and crunchy and there is more of them on the ground! Lol.

Have to pop on over and see what's new in your beautiful neck of the woods. Thank you again!
