Happy Mother's Day!

God's Masterpiece Is Mother

God took the fragrance of a flower
The majesty of a tree
The gentleness of morning dew
The calm of the quiet sea
The beauty of the twilight hour
The soul of a starry night
The laughter of a rippling brook
The grace of a bird in flight
Then God fashioned from these things
A creation like no other,
And when the masterpiece was done
He called it simply-Mother.

--Herbert Farnham-American Poet

This is a picture of Anya, (which in Hungarian means Mom) my dear Grandma, the only mother I ever knew. Pictured here with my two boys, her great-grandsons, in 1963.( Since I can only take a picture of the original, it's not the best of pictures.)

She was there for me through thick or thin, and gave me gifts of the heart, when there was no money for store-bought gifts, during the war. Her faith was strong, and her love deeper than the deepest ocean!

She went to her heavenly reward in February of 1989, at the age of 89. I miss her to this day!

"The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always discover forgiveness" --Honore De Balzac

Have a Happy Mother's Day, everyone!

Oh, Renie, you've gone and made me cry! God bless your Anya for giving you treasured "gifts" that have lasted through your lifetime. There is no love like that of a grandmother. A mother loves, but a grandmother has the love, wisdom, grace, devotion, and so much more that just doesn't have a comparison. What a lovely post!

Enjoy your Mother's Day, Renie! I know you're a wonderful Anya and Nanna to yours. :-)

Hi Patty,

Yes, my grandma was here while my children were growing up, even saw my daughter get married, and my one son become a police officer, another go into the Navy. They were into their twenties, by the time she passed away. I even brought her with me when I moved here from Cleveland.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy Mother's Day to you, my friend.

Love,

Renie

Hi Karen,

We were lucky again yesterday, as we only had some thunderstorms and rain, but no severe storms. I saw on KAIT TV that Jonesboro was getting a tornado and hoped that you and yours were safe. Thank the Lord you were, and no one was hurt in that area. I hope these reoccuring tornadic activities stop soon. I really feel for the folks that were affected.

I had a nice Mother's Day, Karen. Thank you for your good wishes, and I'm glad to see you posting again. Take care and have a nice week.

Love and Hugs,

Renie

Dear Renie ~~ Beautiful tribute to your wonderful Grandmother, who gave you so many blessings and so much love. I am so glad she lived to see your family grown up. I hope your Mother's Day was very nice and you enjoyed the dinner your closest son treated you, and Eileen and another friend. He must have your kind and generous nature. I enjoyed the weekend with both my sons, and the girls were in touch as they live too far away to visit. Still have to take those photos.
How is Eileen doing? Still in plaster? I hope she is soon fit again. Take care, dear friend, Love, Merle.

Hi Patti,

I had a wonderful Mother's Day, although my older son and daughter weren't here. They live too far away.

I can't wait to see some of your pictures from you Mother's Day with Ashley and Avery. I already checked, but no post yet. Bet there will be something in the morning.

Thank you for your sweet comment, my friend. Have a wonderful evening.

Dear Merle,

We had a very nice Mother's Day here as well. Like in your case, my daughter and older son live too far away, but they called, and we were together in spirit.

My Anya was a wonderful lady, and a real blessing in my life, and taught me what real love was. I was fortunate to have her with me for many years.

Eileen still has the cast on. The doctor took the pins out last week, but put a new cast back on for a few more weeks. He said the wrist still needs a little more healing. She has another appointment on May 28th. But her morale is good now, and that's a big step in the right direction.

Thank you for your nice comment, my friend. It's always a joy to hear from you.

Love and Blessings,

Renie
