Happy February!

January has been a rough month around here. Cold and snowy and looong! Glad it's over! I posted these pictures on Facebook, and thought I would put them up here as well.

The picture above is of my snowy front yard. We had 7 inches of snow on 1-28-2010! The tracks were left by my little wire hair, Midgie. And although some of it has melted, there is still a lot of snow out there! Greg will be clearing my driveway today. He is such a blessing to me!

This is my little pond. My view when I sit at my laptop in the sun room. Thirsty birds and beasts around here use it a lot. This morning it's frozen, but the sunshine will melt the edges, a little later today.

I walked up to my gravel road, a 200 foot trek from the house, to take a picture of all the snow, and was surprised to see it had been plowed! That was great news to me. It meant I could get out sooner than I thought. I have lived here since 1987, and had never seen this road plowed! Of course, we usually don't get this much snow, either.

I hope you're all doing well in your neck of the woods. Happy February. Spring will be here soon! I hope!

Blessings from the woods!

Your photos are so beautiful.
Glad to hear that you can get out.
It is nice to see you back, missed you.
We got a little more snow last night, my yard is still filled with high drifts.
Have a safe and warm day.

Our county has done a fantastic job keeping our main road plowed. Ron is able to clear our road so we have been able to get out if we needed but we have preferred not risking the danger posed by other drivers. It is funny because when we lived in Tulsa we could barely get from our house to the main roads because the streets were so snow packed. Now we live in the country and we get help from the county snow plows. Your pictures are wonderful.

Well your neck of the woods looks beautiful! The beauty of the landscape must leave you with a serene feeling.

We've had unusually negligible precipitation here in Detroit, but it's ccccccold. Freezing cold.

Hi Renie,
Good to see you update here. We did not get snow this year. Well, maybe one day Bob shoveled and I think we got 4 or 5 inches tops. And it left soon. Just freezing temperatures with little sun. Hopefully your view from your room will change in a couple of months. I personally can not wait!
Hugs,
Brenda

Snow pictures are so pretty, but, I hope spring is early this year. We are to get one to three inches of snow this afternoon and through out the night. It has been snow on the ground since December I think. It just never completely melted away, before we would get another few inches.

It was good to here what was going on in your little neck of the world. Take care and enjoy the week, month, or year. hehe

Good to see you back on your blog. I do see you over at Facebook all the time. Very nice Winter shots. Keep warm and be careful going out on that snow and ice.

Pretty pics, Renie, but I'm glad there's no snow here (so far!). I did take a little joyride up to Ashville, NC last month and the snow was terrible. Cars and trucks were abandoned on the interstate and side roads. All the hotels were full so I had to finally get a room at Black Mtn. I decided to high-tail it back to Georgia lest I be stuck walking next door and eating at Denny's for a week. lol

I accidentally saw the photos on FaceBook. I'm still not much or a Face Book fan but maybe it will catch on. I am a tad slow!

Hi Renie, was glad to read a post from you, missed you. The snow is pretty and I am surprised the pond is not frozen. It is always nice to have the road plowed so you can get out and about, being snowed in is no fun. Have a nice week.

wow, lovely photos and I love your property, your road. I remember last year you were so snowed in. Glad it doesn't look like you are having those troubles again.

Hi Renie! Thanks for the walk! You live in such beautiful surroundings! The view from your sunroom is stunning. Here in my country we live so close to each other. Where ever I look I see houses. Fortunately I live in a nice neighbourhood!

Sandy, exactly a year ago on 1-28, 09, we had a terrible ice storm and lost power for 10 days. Thank God we only had snow this time. Much better than ice! Thank you for commenting.

Dear Renie, as much as I am done with winter, I must say your pictures are so pretty, especially your lovely pond. I do wish I had one to gaze at too. I did have a fish pond but had to fill it in last year because I couldn't keep the Herons and coons out of it, not to mention the neighbor's dear old dog who thought it was his private swimming hole! LOL
It was fun while it lasted though.

I pray all is well with you and Spring will soon be knocking on your front door with a bouquet of Daffodils.
God bless you and yours

Wow, we've gotten alot of snow here in Virginia too. Your yard is so pretty and reminds me alot of my house in the woods. Being in the country is so nice, but when it does snow, it's rough getting out...so good that you have help.
Blessings,
Leslie
Happy Valentine's Day too!
