Country Roads

Country roads , Take me home, To the place, Where I belong!

This is the road to and from home. I have lived on this country road for over 20 years. The view you see is to the North, taking me to connect with the highway to town. Of course, it's only a two lane highway, thank goodness. I don't think I could navigate a freeway anymore. It has been quite some time, since I have driven on a busy freeway.
My country road is hilly and scenic. A pleasant drive in all seasons. I took this photo yesterday, and as you can see, we still have a lot of green on the trees, although the colors are moseying on in.
I love my country road!

Renie,

What a beautiful country road you live on! Thank you for posting this gorgeous photo. This is how I imagined your road would be, except it's even more beautiful than I imagined.

Hi Michele,

I had a problem downloading my photo, as you know, but finally, it did. The photo turned out okay. I'm really not that great of a photographer. But I'm trying. Thank you for the nice comment. I do love my country road!

Blessings,

Renie

Hi Tina,

A pretty picture, Renie! Look at the soil - so different from GA. Ga soil is red because of iron oxides.

Hi Deborah,

Yes, it's very different from Georgia soil. I recall the first time we drove through Georgia in the late 60s, and saw the red soil. It made quite an impression on us. The soil around here is karst. Very rocky. The trees are predominently oaks and hickories, and with some mixture of other tree species, of course, and our main crop is grass!

Thank you for the nice compliment on the picture. I hope Envy is doing great now.

Renie,

What a beautiful country road and the autumn leaves are lovely.

Yes, you could still drive on the freeway. Once you know how, you never forget. The problem for me is watching all those signs. I prefer to have a copilot to read the signs for me.

Thanks for commenting on my diabetes post. It's increasing to epidemic porportions throughout North America.

Take care and be safe on your country road. I enjoyed my visit, as always.

Mary,

I prefer a copilot as well! lol. Makes freeway driving easier and gives moral support. You think freeway driving is like riding a bike? Once you know how, you never forget? Maybe you are right. Actually, for me, driving 50 miles to a larger town is like freeway driving. Not quite like it used to be in a big city, but it is a four lane highway. I usually have a copilot though, when I drive there. lol.

I rate your blog about diabetes A+ Mary.

Thank you so much for commenting on my photo. Your visit is always much appreciated. Hope Dwight's shoulder is feeling much better, although I know from personal experience that a shoulder injury can take some time to heal.

Have a nice evening, Mary.

I love that John Denver song and your photo is lovely. We have more freeways than country roads in my area. How serene it looks where you are!

Hi Renie ~~ Love the photo and John Denver's song and you live in a lovely area ~ so peaceful and
serene is a lovely word for it.Thank you for your comments and I would gladly share the sweets with you, but for the distance. I am diabetic and can only have one occasionally. The Getting Older thing was too close to home!! Glad you liked the Toot and Tell or go to Hell. Just a bit too
adventurous. So glad you felt cheered up after your visit. Take
care, my friend, Love, Merle.

Dear Merle,

I try to stay away from too many sweets, myself. Your jokes are always hilarious, Merle. And your visits always appreciated. Thank you, my friend. Have a lovely weekend.

Warm regards,

Reni

Lots of lovely drives for those who care to got off the paved roads. Yours is lovely. I like the fact that at some times of day I can drive 20 plus miles to a nearby town and not see another vehicle in either direction. I always hoping to see a deer, moose or bear and I am seldom disappointed.

Our leave are all fallen and I read we may get accumulating snow next week.

Yes, lots of lovely drives. I love driving the country roads around here. And when I drive to town in the morning, I usually don't see more than one car. Later in the day, there is a bit more traffic.

Must be exciting to see moose. I don't have to even drive to see deer and wild turkey. They call my woods and field home.

Accumulating snow already? Wow!

Oh, we won't get any snow yet until December/January, and even then, it's usually on the lighter side and doesn't stick around for long, thank goodness. But there are exceptions, at times.

Thanks for visiting, Philip.

Good Afternoon Renie,
Just thought I would drop by and see how you were doing. I bet it was cold up your way thing morning. I bet there was a big frost too. We had a light frost here this morning when I took the girls to school. Had to wait for the windshield to clear off. Your country road looks so beautiful with all those leaves. Our country roads around here are plain flat with cotton and bean and corn fields around them. I hope you have a great weekend my friend. Take care.

Hi Karen,

Yes, it was chilly this morning, but we didn't have frost on the windshield. There were patches of frost on the grass, here and there. They said the low was 33. Too chilly for me, brrr! But now it's very nice, sunny and 62, and warming up over the weekend.

Yes, we're in the hills here, Karen, and I love it. Thank you kindly for coming by. I'll be checking out your blog in a little while. And I hope your sniffles are much better.

Take care, my friend.

Hugs,

Renie

Renie,

We are all fine. My husband has a dog. I will have to make a post about him with some photos. He's a dachshund named Oscar. Our grown children laugh at us all the time -they say we treat him like a child. Well, duh - he is! LOL

How are things with you and yours? It sure is pretty in your part of the world now!

Hugs,
Tina

Tina,

What a nice surprise! Oh, I do hope you post pictures of Oscar. I love Doxie's. I read somewhere that they are the most cat-like dog of all. I had an Oscar as well. My good boy, Rottie. He went to doggie heaven this past summer. He was almost ten years old. It still makes me cry just to think about him. I miss him so much.

Thank you for visiting, dear Tina. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Hugs,

Renie

Thank you, Michele. Eileen takes good pictures, doesn't she? The old profile picture was 4 years old, from the days when I had chubby cheeks. Hehe. Now the cheeks aren't as chubby, but they have more wrinkles!

Enjoy the evening.
