An Update and Two Meme's!

I have been tagged for two meme's recently, and am way behind posting those. My time has been limited on the computer in the past several weeks. My best friend, Eileen fell and broke her wrist on March 15. (She broke her hip four years ago, and has been somewhat disabled still from that.) Since then, I have been helping her as much as I can, since she is in a cast, and can't do much with only one hand. Eileen's dear husband passed away four years ago, so I am her only "family" around here.

I shop for her now, take her to the doctor in town, visit her, make sure she is doing well. She lives 15 miles from me, so along with my own chores waiting for me at home, leaves me with much less time to be on the computer. Her cast will come off in three weeks, and hopefully she can then go back to her normal life. I am glad to help her as much as I can, and I know if the shoe were reversed, she would do the same for me.

Now, to the meme's.Glo, at Young at Heart, tagged me for this meme a couple of weeks ago. I apologize for being so late with doing this meme, Glo.

I am to answer the questions below, so here it goes:

1.What I was doing 10 years ago:
I was living in my woods, where I am still living, enjoying my family, friends, nature, my animals, and writing. Only I did all that with a bit more vigor back then!

2. Five things on my to do list for today:
Pick up Eileen.
Go to church.
Go to lunch.
Drive Eileen home.
Feed all the hungry mouths waiting for me at home.

3. Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
Big Donation to my Church.
Donation for New Homeless Shelters.
Donation for Many New Shelters for Homeless Animals.
Donation for Diabetes Research
Donation for Cancer Research.
And I'd make sure my family and dear friends are all well taken care of.
Take a trip around the world!
I'm sure I would think of a lot more things, too.

4. Three of my bad habits:
I procrastinate much too much.
I have a bit of a Hungarian temper.
I am impatient. (There are more, but the meme asked for only three!)

5. Five places I have lived:
Zirc Hungary.
Spittal, Austria.
Salzburg, Austria.
Terre Haute, Indiana.
Cleveland, Ohio.

6.Five jobs I have had:
Sales Clerk in a Dime Store (as a teen).
Office Worker at American Greetings.
Mom-(My most important job!)
Worked in the office at a Car Parts Warehouse.
Writer.

Thank you Glo, for tagging me. I won't tag anyone for this now, but if you'd like to do the meme, please let me know, so I can come and read yours.

Then I was tagged for the "six word memoir" meme, by Patti, at Nonna's News. So here is my memoir:

"Christian, Mom, Nana, Nature, Animal Lover"

Thank you for tagging me Patti. Sorry this is so late. Anyone else care to write a six word memoir? I'd love to come and read it!

Thank you for reading. Have a wonderful week, everyone!

Dear Renie ~~ Great answers to the memes and the reason you have been so busy. I hopr that Eileens arm heals well and she will be free of the cast in 3 weeks. Good of you to help, but that's what friends are for. Take good care of yourself too Renie. Thank you for your comments and your words about Vicki. I hope those meds work for her. Glad you enjoyed the Grandma theme and the Donkey story.I wondered what sort of neighbors the farmer had, that they would all agree to bury the donkey alive. The funniest part of the linton joke was that he had
Hanky Panky between two Bushes.
Look after yourself, my friend,
Love, Merle. Don't worry about comments if you are too tired or busy.

Good morning Renie,
Hope you and your friend Eileen have a wonderful chuch service, a delicious lunch and safe trip home again. Sounds to me like you are a wonderful friend.

I know what you mean about ten years ago compared to now. I also was able ( or so it seems) to get a lot more done than I seem to be able to get done now. But I guess it's true we slow down some as we get a little older.

Have a wonderful evening with all of your animal friends.
Love,
Patty

Dear Merle,

Eileen and I had a fun day. This is the first time she got out, with the exception of going to the doctor, and she enjoyed it. Her hand hurts quite a bit still, but her great fear of falling again has eased somewhat, which is half the battle.

Thank you for your kind words and visit, dear Merle. I'm always cheered by your visit.

Love and blessings,

Renie

Hi Patty,

Eileen and I enjoyed the day. She felt good being back in church, after not attending for the past month. Lunch was delicious, and we even went for a little drive, to see the dogwoods, since it was such a beautiful day.

But I am tired now and ready for bed, soon.

Thank you for coming by and the lovely comment.

Love and Hugs,

We had a beautiful day in my area as well, and it was good to be out in it.

Hi Renie,

I enjoyed reading your memes! You have lived in many interesting places. If I were to do that meme, I would have exactly five other places I have lived - all in the same state and three of those in the same city. LOL

You are a good friend. But that doesn't surprise me! I hope Eileen is feeling better soon and back to her old self when the cast comes off. :-)

Hugs,
Tina

Poor Eileen! Well, the good thing is that she has someone to help her out and keep her cheered up. I hope that her wrist will be ok once the cast is off and it won't take too long to regain her normal strength. Sometimes the docs will recommend a few weeks of therapy, Mom had to do it and just finished up last week.

When I broke my wrist back in 1982, it was hot summer time. The cast make your skin itch sooo bad. I use to keep broken off broom straws to stick down inside the cast and scratch with.

At least Eileen will be getting her cast off before hot weather kicks in.

Hi Tina,

Well, I have lived in many places and in several countries, but I named five, as the meme asked. Unfortunately, I have never even visited beautiful New Hampshire!

Eileen is getting better, and should be back to normal in a few weeks. Thank you for your nice comment, my friend.

Hugs,

Nice meme's too.
You're the best "mom"!

Deborah,

Yep, she is itching really badly under that cast! I'll tell her about the broom straws.

This entire episode had gotten her morale down, and she developed this terrible fear of falling again to the point of being afraid to walk without assistance. But she did well yesterday, and only used her cane a little. So she will be okay. She enjoyed going out to eat with our church friends again, and is looking forward to getting the cast off so she can drive again, after the doctor reassured her that she will be able to drive again. So things are looking up.

I hope your Mom is doing real well now!

Thanks for coming by. Have a good evening.

Dear Audrey,

Eileen is much more cheery and feeling better. But her arm is still in a cast. She sees the ortho on May 8th, and is hoping the cast will come off then. Thank you for asking. You're so kind! And thank you for the sweet comment, dear friend.

God Bless!

Renie
