Success at Last!

The other day, I was reading blogging friend Linda's This and That blog post, when I discovered a solution to my grrrrr problem! Linda wrote about being ticked off because she forgot to take her memory card out of the reader, so even though she had her camera along at the 4th of July cookout she attended, she couldn't take any pictures! So she was ticked off! And who can blame her?

But you know something? I was glad she forgot her memory card, because writing about it, I had the chance to find out about memory card readers. Sorry, Linda, but it's true. :-)

Memory card reader? I have never heard of it. Could this possibly be a solution to my uploading problems? I called our local Radio Shack and asked about it, and the guy said, "Yep, it will work with your camera. It works with any digital camera." So I went to town yesterday, and bought a memory card reader, and voila, I can get my pictures uploaded from my camera! Woo Hoo!

The last few days, I have been enjoying taking pictures of sun and shade, light and dark, and although they are not real good pictures, I thought I'd show them anyway.

This is Dottie, the doe with the lump on her face. I wrote about her before. She's had this growth on her side for almost six years now but seems to be doing well. The other afternoon, she was standing in the shady side of the field, watching me, while the sun shone brightly behind her. I thought the sun and shade effect makes an interesting shot.
Yesterday at dawn, this young doe was out in the front early. I saw her from the kitchen window and went out with my camera. Her glowing eyes make her look surreal, don't you think? But she posed for me nicely.

Here is my front yard in the early morning. This picture really has to be enlarged to see the sun and shade better.
And here the sun was playing peek-a-boo through the tree tops.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my sun and shade attempts. I'm just happy I can upload pictures again, and will post my purple castle pictures soon.

Have a great day, everyone!

You have done well with the sunshine and shade. I am glad you got some rain after all the heat. Thanks for your kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed the jokes and quotes and the Helen Steiner Rice Poem. She was very talented. Good Morning, Renie!

I am so glad that you have finally solved your problem. Now I am waiting for those photos of the purple house!

Your photos of the deer are beautiful! Nothing can even begin to compare with nature, can it? The sun and shade photo is actually quite interesting! I did click on the pic to make it larger and you can see the sun peeking through the tree tops! Great work, Renie! Your front yard looks soooooo peaceful, too!

Hi Renie,
How wonderful that a little tip you read while blogging has helped you with your photos.
Loved seeing your deer. Yours are so much more clear than the ones I tried to photograph behind our fence last week. (hobbling around from so far away didn't help me!)
Looking forward to your purple house photos.
hugs

Oh, I'm glad to see Dottie again! She must like you, Renie, coming by to visit you...:) I wonder if that could possibly be Dottie's doe and she was nearby?

I'm glad to hear that you are getting your camera woes worked out, we have missed your pictures.

Don't you just love it when you figure something out that has been a problem! It just makes my day when I do. Your pictures are great, I especially like the one of the doe with the lump. What do you suppose caused that? If it's been six years it must be okay. Maybe just a fatty tumor. I am not real good at judging my lighting when I take pictures. I really need to study up on that. Like how you got the sun peeking through the trees.
Yes, it does get hot here in Maine but usually doesn't last too long. I think we are going to get a shower tonight and we really need it. I've been watering everything every day.
I think we all are waiting to see the purple house! lol!! It seems most everyone has commented on that!!
Have a wonderful rest of your week!

Greetings Miss Renie,

Renie,

Your photos are awesome. I'm glad Dottie is doing well. I remember her and yes, the glowing eyes make the doe look surreal. Great shot!

There have been deer in the park across the street, down by the creek that runs through it. They haven't been seen as much since the fireworks for Canada Day. I do hope they come back. Much of the deer's habitat is being destroyed for homes in this area. A real shame.

Blessings,
Mary

I'm glad my misfortune was helpful to you. I'm going to buy an extra memory card to keep in my camera bag in case I forget it in the reader again.

Isn't it funny the same deer have come to visit with you for 6 years? Your pictures are beautiful. I'm taking my camera out today in hopes of finding some good shots.

Yay... can't wait for the purple house pictures... I enjoyed your shade and sun pictures.

About the lump on the deer.. we have a goat that has a lump.. my husband has lanced it..and she looks better.. I wouldn't imagine you could do that to the deer... just saying it is probably a cyst or something...

Enjoyed my visit as usual..

Pretty front yard you have here, also gald you were able to get a digital reader card, really helps at uloading pictures instead of using your camera all of the time.

I have at least two reader cards myself, I keep one for spare just in case.

I feel sorry for that Deer but I guess she do not see herself any different from the other deers.

Nice pictures.

Hi Renie, I've already been here, but you mentioned on mine about a recipe for Lavender cookies? Do you mind sending it to me if you can find it? I've never cooked anything with Lavender, & would love to try the cookies!

I love the way lights and shadows play in the day, and night. When we swim at night I love to see the shadows on the pool.
OH poor deer, I am sure you look for it every summer.
