It was a dreadful day. I regret the response to it wasn't more creative and controlled.

I cannot think of this day without remembering i 1/2 million Iraqis have died for this day, a day they were not responsible for.

It is hard to believe that was seven years ago. It is so etched in our memories. Like the Kennedy assassination, we all know where we were and what we were doing when we heard the dreadful news.

Yes, I agree with hippochick, just like the Kennedy assasination we all know where we were when we heard about the attack on our country. May that day stay etched in our hearts and minds forever.

We will never forget. As a New Yorker, I feel so overwhelmed on every anniversary. It was so scary.

Thanks for this beautiful post.

9.11 was a day not to be forgotten. I say that then let me tell you what I did on Tuesday. When I got to college I noticed the flags at half mast and I asked (the president of the college) my Bio teacher, "Uth oh, who died?" and he gave me a look. He said it was in honor of 9.11
I was embarrased! I mean, I had brought our flag to half mast in honor but... I did not know it was a country wide observance.

It's a day we will all remember all too well.

Hi Renie,

In response to your comment on my blog, you're right! Since the cat door leads to the basement and not outside there is no way in the world someone could grab my ankle.

Perhaps this is why my husband implied that I'm crazy. :-)

We here in Canada mourn your loss too. It was an event that shook the world. Like 'Tossing pebbles in the stream' I can't help but think of the Iraqis losses as well...

I watched a special on the History Channel the other night on this. They showed of footage that had never been shown before. How well we will always remember that deradful day! Same as JFK's assassination. Some things are just always with us. Our country was violated 7 years ago...how could we ever forget THAT?

Yes, a silent prayer should be said by all.
