Our red and gray Squirrels live together very nicely. They sure give the birds a challenge for sunflower seeds in the Squirrel proof feeder.

Bless its little heart! Is aw on one blog somewhere where they were feeding their squirrels cut-up apples. I never thought of toast or apples when we had squirrels. I fed them sunflower seeds, and when Spring came, we had sunflowers popping up all over in the shrub beds! LOL Lucky are the little creatures who live in the woods near Renie's house!

Great picture!!!

Renie........I can picture you as having tame ones coming up to fetch a piece of toast. Is that how he got it?

If you like these little furry rodents so much that you make them toast, I have a zillion more that I could send down to you!!!

Aren't they fun to watch. They can get a little destructive if you aren't careful. We had one eat a hole in our window screen, I guess we weren't feeding him fast enough. LOL Have a great week. Been to the Chinese for lunch lately?

I just read your cat story. How wonderful!!! Although I have trouble with the squirrels eating all my bird seed, that picture is really cute.

that's so cute, renie. i remember sarah jessica parker as carrie said in "You can't make friends with a squirrel. Squirrels are just rats with cuter outfits." =D

That little red squirrel is lovely Renie. Nice to see them around. That's a brilliant picture.

Interesting Bennie and Patsy saying their red & grey squirrels live together OK. Sadly nearly all our native red ones have been killed off by the greys that someone introduced from the USA years ago. Not sure why they did it but it's been disastrous.

Sad because now they're trying to cull the grey ones in an attempt to save the red ones. Wish they would leave nature to itself and not try to change things.

Oh my it has been a long time since I saw a Red Squirrel. We have none in California that I know of, at least not in the valley where I live. That is so Cute.

My Dad feeds his critters toast too when he's done with his breakfast!! This is so cute! We don't see any squirrels, chipmunks, racoons or anything here! Only large 4 legged varieties.
Tell me, do you put jam on the toast for him?? ...wink
Hugs for such a sweet Lady Renie~
