Two Oldies in Blue! A Little Update

Hello Friends in Blogland! I thought I'd do a little update and say Hi. It's been a little while since I did. I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. I certainly did. I received cards and gifts and phone calls and was treated to a delicious Mother's Day dinner by my younger son, Greg. Of course, Eileen was included, because she is my best friend and she is also Greg's honorary aunt!

And here we are, two oldies in blue on Mother's Day! I didn't know Eileen was going to wear blue, and she didn't know I was, until we saw each other in church that morning. Imagine our surprise! LOL. Of course, she is more stylish than I, being into more accessorizing and all. She is a New York City gal, after all! (Well, actually, from Rockaway Beach, New York, but that's a part of NYC.) And I hope, Patty, her real life niece in Broad Channel gets a kick out of the picture! All in all, Mother's Day was a wonderful day, although I wish my daughter and older son and families could have been with us.

Otherwise, everything is green and beautiful, the garden is growing by leaps and bounds, and I'm enjoying wearing my jaunty straw gardening hat, one of my Mother's Day gifts from my daughter!

I haven't had much time for blogging lately, and that will be the case for a while longer. But I will try and visit with you all, and wish you a wonderful week ahead!

Thank you for visiting.

Blessings from the Woods!

I love this picture and the fact that you two friends are dressed in blue... Two older ladies in our church (one has now passed on) were great friends and they both bought the same dress and would call each other to make sure they wore it on the same day... I thought that was so cute and showed how close they really were...

Now that summer is almost here I expect all of us will get a little busier and probably not post as much... do what you have to do... we'll all meet back here when the weather gets cold again...LOL

BTW, that shade of blue is my new favorite summer color.

I recall another post where you and Eileen wore the same color. Perhaps a couple of years ago. That proves a theory "Great minds think alike".
Glad you had a wonderful day. I need a juanty straw hat, although no garden for me this year. I am getting too tied up in other things to keep it up plus we are leaving for three weeks. Cant ask someone else to take care of so much for me.
Love you post and I too do not check oftne enough .

Those jackets are my favorite color. You two look bright-eyed, bushy-tailed and happy! Glad you enjoyed the week-end with family.

It's always nice to hear what you are and have been up to. It is a lovely day in my neighborhood today, but the weather forecast is predicting wind and rain later this afternoon.

My guess is "The Cowboy Ty" goes tonight on "Dancing" but you have to give it to him, he sure does try and he has improved a lot since the first show. I am wondering if the girl who injured her ribs, (forget her name) might win, she is pretty good too. I think it will be between her and the sexy guy! hahaha

Enjoy your week and I believe tomorrow is Chinese Buffet for you and Eileen? Have fun!

Nice to see a post from you. Like I said, I try to take a day when I'm not so busy and post ahead to show up on certain dates.

Had nice visit with son, of course it was a hectic few days. I had to laugh at the granddaughter that is living with us now, and also her Mother. Yesterday after school, her Mother is late on Mon and Wed because she has classes. I was on my computer and Abe on his, and Audrey was playing with her dolls out here in the office. And out of the blue she said, isn't it nice and quiet, there has been so much company and so much noise for four days. I guess she noticed that to. LOL She also told her Mom she doesn't want to grill out again this Sat., we've done it for the past three Saturdays. Now she doesn't have to do anything but eat, so I'm assuming she's tired of hot dogs. Myself I prefer a grilled all beef hot dog over a grilled hamburger any day.

Glad you had a nice time on Mother's Day. It was pretty quiet here, took son to airport around 4, then went over to see my Mother for a few hours. We celebrated Mother's Day and our sons birthday on Sat. since we were all together then. Well almost all of us, one daughter and her son didn't come back down. They were here on Wed. and also Friday.

Take care, eat plenty of Chinese food tomorrow, and tell yourself some of it's for me. LOL

You two ladies look lovely in shades of blue.

Renie, you and Eileen look beautiful. I'm glad to hear that you had a nice Mother's Day, so did I. And I too have been very busy - and/or just not wanting to do anything. One extreme to the other.

Rockaway - that's where my ex sister-in-law was raised. Her parents were Jewish, their name was Kaplan.

In answer to your question: "Are Panhandlers like Beggars.? More or lees and no they are not selling anything. They just stand on the busy corners at the red lights with signs that say they are homeless, or need money for the family, etc. On the news this evening one of the panhandlers had a sign I will not lie, I want money for alcohol. They hope people will hand them money out their car windows for them. And many people do.
I hope that made sense.

I think it is a hoot that the two of you are so in tune with each other that you both wore blue on mother's Day! My best friend and I can finish each others sentences! lol! Glad you had a lovely day with Greg and I'm sure you were in the thoughts of your other children on this special day for moms.

We are still in Miami at my hubbys convention. We leave tomorrow to go back to Maine. It has been so nice here with beautiful hot days and cool evenings. More to come after I get home and can download the pictures!

I;m glad you had such a nice mother's day Renie. I did too but like you wish 'all' of my children couls have been here. There is something so special about having them all together under the same roof. I guess it's that 'mother hen' thing we hear about.
I pray you have a lovely week end.
God bless you and yours.

It is good to hear from you again. I'm wishing you a "belated" Happy Mother's Day. Hope your busy schedule is a happy one and not a burden.

My mother always wore blue. The other day my sister and I realized we look great in blue and decided to start wearing more blue ourselves. Of course mother looked so good because she had blue eyes.

Hi here an other oldie! Thanks for your visits. Etje is a Belgian my age, he writes in Flemish( Dutch). You know that Belgium is divided in two language regions: French and Flemish, which is approximately the same as my language Dutch. We(the Netherlands and the Flemish part of Belgium) share TV programs and do language games on TV in which the Belgians are often better than the Dutch. BTW they have a king.King Albert and Queen Paola. Good on you that you can read Dutch. It looks a bit like German sometimes, so does Norwegian, but that's very different on the whole. Love and hugs Renie!

Thank you Renie for your visit! Have a great weekend! I am so excited: I get visitors from South Africa, distant relatives, but they don't speak Dutch anymore. I am going with them to the windmills.
